When I Grow Up is a story-book about two little kids who try to see the grown-up world through their own eyes. Adults frequently ask children the question of what they want to be when they grow up. Appu has been asked the same question and he has some unusual and creative answers. He wonders why he can't just be himself. He then decides that he won't be just one thing, he will be many things at once. Appu concocts different professions together, in order to become the best thing he can be when he becomes as old as his mom and dad. Appu tells his best friend Lola, that he wants to become a pironaut. What’s a pironaut? It’s a mix between a pirate and an astronaut. This profession enables him to sail on the seas all the way to the moon.
