Even though his mother warns him against wandering in the hills William isn't a bit afraid of dwarfs, nor of giants, until one day when Thimble the dwarf captures him with a pair of enchanted shoes. The shoes take him to the magical cottages, dens and palaces of Witch Twiddle, Wizard Castaspell, Dwindle the dwarf and Rumble the kindly giant, but will William have to roam the enchanted hillside forever?
